EQUALIZER
CLAMP*
Designed to grip thin sections firmly without any
deflection of the workpiece. This totally non-influencing clamp
automatically equalizes the pressure on each side of the workpiece
as the clamping force is increased. The danger of spoilage resulting
from clamping distortion is eliminated. Flimsy, difficult to hold
parts can be held rigidly for machining.

| HOW THE EQUALIZER CLAMP WORKS |
| Our patented mechanism
allows downward movement of the clamp screw (1) which results in
upward movement of the actuating rod (2) until its toggle pad
contacts the work. The same action pivots the clamp end of the rocker arm (3)
downward until it contacts the work. Contact pressure on top and on bottom
of the work is equalized by the slip–slide action of the actuating rods.
Final tightening of the clamp screw generates static friction between the
actuating rods and the bores that contain them. The result is a solid,
non-influencing clamping action. |
