What's New at Stevens Engineering
Stevens Engineering offers NEW CONCEPTS in Workholding

MODEL 626 MODULAR VISE  is an updated version of our Model 625 Modular Vise featuring

  • Lower profile design for more tool clearance.
  • Fixed and Moveable jaws now accept industry standard 6" wide jaws which are readily available from multiple vendors.
  • Uses pull dowels for positioning both fixed and movable jaw assemblies.
  • The two-piece design permits separating the fixed and movable jaw assemblies to  accommodate large workpieces.
  • Multiple vises can be lined up in a row to allow clamping of long workpieces without the need for tedious alignment and indicating.
Model 626
MICRO JACK is used to raise or lower a workpiece to the desired level prior to machining.  The worm and worm gear mechanism allows fine height adjustment.  It will easily support up to 5000 lbs.  A variety of STEVENS rest pads may be threaded into the plunger.

EQUALIZER CLAMPS are non-influencing, capable of grasping thin flimsy work without deflection or distortion and holding them firmly during machining operations.  Equalizer clamps are also used to hold parts of up to 1" thickness in positions away from the preferred locating points.  This is extremely useful in situations where it is not practical to clamp directly over rest pad locations.

CHAIN CLAMP a compact, powerful work-holder for round parts with new protective nylon shoes inserted into alternate links as shown, hold round parts firmly for machining without scratching the finished surfaces they contact.

Conventional clamping localizes clamping force and may distort workpieces. The STEVENS Chain Clamp distributes clamping forces, reducing workpiece distortion.
